The most common and recognizable popcorn types are any variation of white and yellow popcorn.

Yellow popcorn has a much more robust flavor when compared to white popcorn. The flavor is nutty and buttery, whereas white popcorn is neutral and mild and starts as more of a blank canvas to add the flavor you desire. Because of yellow popcorn’s buttery taste, it is the go-to when making movie theater-style popcorn — all you need to do is add butter and salt. Both are delicious, and the decision between the two ultimately comes down to personal preference and what type of snack you are looking for.

Popcorn with colored-kernels are more common than you might think. Amish Country Popcorn offers Midnight Blue Hulless Popcorn, Blue Popcorn, Red Popcorn, and Purple Popcorn. Rainbow Popcorn is a combo of Red, Blue, and Purple Popcorn, as well as some white and yellow kernels.

The colors of all of these varieties make them attractive choices, but remember that while our uniquely-colored popcorn kernel varieties have a colored kernel, they will be white or yellow once popped.

What does 'hullness' mean?

Hulless popcorn is known for its softer and more delicate texture. The hull of popcorn refers to the outer shell of the kernel. Kernels being referred to as hulless, have an incredibly thin hull, and because of this, they have less of a crunch and more of a tender melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Amish Popcorn is non-GMO and gluten free.
